maynardc on "Tagline not changing color via Custom CSS text."

I am trying to change the Tagline on our homepage. We have the CSS option and I have inserted the following css code; however, the color has not changed.
#header p {
margin:0px;
padding:0px;
float:left;
width:100%;
color:#000000;
}

Is there something that I am not doing? Any help would be appreciated.
