dancesrb on "I'm needing a WordPress update"

I'm wanting to update my WordPress to the latest version, because I'm having various issues with my current. I'm assuming that my version is before 2.7 +, because I don't have an option for automatic updates. I'm not having success updating, probably because I'm not too tech savvy. Is there a way that I can get step by step directions in laymen's terms?
