I am new to this, and feel that the search for answers to my problems keep bringing me in a loop to answers that don't solve my problems.
I am trying to establish a website via WordPress. I want to use a static home page, which acts as a hub to my various professional and personal interests - acting, writing, general philosophizing and politics, etc.
But as I try to follow your instructions, I feel they require a degree of understanding I do not yet have. Simple things. Go to timothydeenihan.com and you'll see I can't figure out:
- Why can't I get rid of the 'blogroll' and items below?
- What do I have to do to make the text widgets actually 'live'?
- I followed the instructions on your how-to page, but can't find the button (link? widget? hotspot?) for 'posts' to allow me to move to a next page.
- I can't figure out how to hide the recent posts on this static page which isn't supposed to be showing recent posts.
I reckon I'm floundering here a bit, but it simply Doesn't. Make. Sense. To me.
Help!
