Thank you for your reply. IE and Chrome not affected, but Firefox still is in spite of ensuring both cache and cookies are empty. Restart has not made a difference. You mention that this blacking out does not appear when you view the site, did you try Firefox?
Black separation marks also appear following the footer 'Posted in ...' and elsewhere.
