Yes, stats cannot be transferred, so it's only live data from the moment you install it.
Analytics are not an exact science, the biggest problem being bots (search bots, spam bots, spiders, etc). Every analytics service filters out bot traffic, but new bots are born every day, and we can't filter a new bot until we see it ourselves, so each service could be filtering different bots, thus resulting in different data.
